my style timeline
straight up emo/scene, in honour of all the bands i listened to at the time - i was naturally wearing a PTV band tee, black leggings and knee high converse, paired with my brunette hair i tried to make look emo as possible since my mother wouldn't let me dye it...i was very restricted to what i could wear at this time and couldn't go fully scene even with my fashion ): also at this time were very beginnings of my EGL interest when i discovered the old EGL livejournal, watched anime with lolita inspired characters and went into the knockoff lolita stores in London (*Angel Pretty looking at u*)

at the height of tumblr's popularity - pale grunge, winged eyeliner, galaxy print, the 1975 & 5SOS band tees, American Apparel/Urban Outfitters...i was one of those teens for sure...idk who this is or why i switched up so much from emo but...thankfully everything changed when i saw the Cure live in 2019 *a goth is born*

this period of time was defined by depop for me - i was literally obsessed with IGIRL and all the styles you would find spammed as tags at the end of a depop post - y2k / grunge / mallgoth / preppy / punk / kinderwhore etc..., this is where i really started branching out and trying different styles, honestly i haven't moved onnnn i still wanna make selling clothes online my main job in the future!
i also started getting into EGL again and actually had some great pieces (which i have NO pics in somehow & sold...my lacemarket account is my graveyard T_T)

this might have been my mid20's crisis year...very randomly got hyperfixated on specifically agejo gyaru and whimsigoth?? but ultimately didn't stick because every vintage MA*RS piece was ridiculously expensive and realised it didn't suit my personality that much in the end (still love gals tho ♡) but i still love whimsigoth style, these years were pretty crucial in exploring jfashion though, i got to know and researched so many great brands ☆

last year i really got into jirai kei & subcul and although i didn't buy many pieces overall i still rlly love subcul ! i don't think i suited it that much honestly, it felt like something was missing, but i relate to the fashion's roots and mental health aspect a lot - & although i listened to nicole dollanganger a ton before this was the first time i incorporated her aesthetic into mine, so a lot of my outfits were very morute inspired (see pics at the end of page) i wouldn't say anything i wore in 2025 is too dissimilar from my current style actually, i was definitely getting closer esp with subcul to what i suited and the vision i had in my mind

the year i abandoned colour completely...LOL this year i'm def the most confident with fashion as evidenced by me actually showcasing it vs before it would only be a few pics a year, right now my favourite styles are dark girly/dolly, vkei, old school lolita inspired, and very slowly getting into steampunk! i don't see myself going to something completely different like 2023-2024 but i'm open to new styles too, this is the most comfortable i've felt and what i think suits me the most and seems the least "forced" out of everything i've worn before ^__^
